After a summer vacation in Eugene, Oregon visiting family members. He and his wife decided to move to Eugene with their three kids for the quality of life.

His journey at Oregon Ceilings & Acoustics began almost 10 years ago as a utility worker. Billy Phillips
Essex General Construction
Phone: (541) 275-8890
Email: billy.phillips@essexgc.com

Billy Phillips is the Director of Business Development for Essex General Construction.

He is a 5th generation Oregonian. His family came from Ireland in the late 1800’s and settled on property outside of Harrisburg. It was a great experience for Billy growing up in a farming community. He started working on local farms at age 12. After high school he went to Oregon State and the University of Idaho, graduating with a BS in Forest Engineering / Timber Harvesting.

Billy began his construction career as a Project Engineer for a large regional General Contractor. He had the opportunity to grow in that firm, taking on the roles of Project Manager, Business Development Manager, Development Owner’s Rep and eventually became a senior leader in the firm. Billy also brings experience working for a specialty contracting firm, where he spent five years helping them grow their commercial construction business, serving in the roles of Vice President of Operations and President.

He has learned a lot over the years from these experiences and is happy that he’s gotten back to his roots in general construction and development at Essex General Construction. He loves the full cycle of the development and building process from building the relationships early in the process before a shovel hits the ground to the final completion of a project when the last piece of furniture is moved in.

In addition to his role at Essex, Billy has served on the board for the Emerald Valley Boys & Girls Club and is currently the President of the Monroe JR Dragons Sports Board. Billy brings over 18 years of commercial construction experience in both the General Contracting and Subcontracting realms. He hopes this well-rounded knowledge base and perspective will benefit the members of the Eugene Builders Exchange.

Ed and his fiancé had been looking for the right opportunity to return to his hometown and they found it at ADT Commercial.  Ed opened an ADT Commercial office in Eugene last summer. He has been working mostly in the Oregon bid market and with several large customers and electrical contractors. It is his goal to build ties in Eugene and give back to the community that shaped him.  He is interested in volunteer opportunities and making a difference in the community.

As a daily user of the exchange, Ed can use his knowledge and skills to find what is useful to exchange members and makes the platform stronger while promoting it among his peers.
